The Question...

What can we do to help our country combat Terrorism?
I know this must be the most commonest of all the questions that all of you must have come across since the events of the past week. But before you jump to conclusions let me explain.
Enough words have been written, enough candles have been lit. Now, my question seeks to go beyond that. It wants to know what real action can be taken by us, the common people.
Can we only protest, shout slogans, passively and wait for certain lousy people to change things for us??? Can we not do something...anything, take an active part and be the change???
I am not against protests and dharnas for the cause but I want to know if there are any more alternatives to approach the solution, which we the people can implement.
Please do try to answer this question of mine.

I think we shud have severe punishment like capital punishment or sth more terrible than that for terrorists ...we shud let them know that they have to pay the price for their horrendous deeds!!!

My views -

Start voting and showing responsibility as citizens

Being vigilant at all times...

Not being a soft state and start demanding better governance

Being a more ethical society and nipping corruption

Showing more appreciation for our armed forces

Not FORGETTING this attack

Thank you, All Talk No Action, yes these are the most simple yet essential steps that we can take as responsible citizens. I especially like the 1st, 2nd 5th points. Thanks again

Promote patriotism. Only a totally non-corrupt person in thought and action can be a true patriot. The best insitute in India currently, notwithstanding some controversial limitatations, is the Military establishment. Support a conditional military coup and good Governanance for a limited period, say a decade, where in the focus has to be in total eradication of rampant corruption & bureaucracy, restoring eroded national and cultural values and above all promoting patriotism and human values, with committed involvement of all concerned bloggers like you and many more individuals who will be gladly entertained by the coup masters, who are the real patriots of this great and blessed country. May I strongly emphasise that Corruption is the root cause of Terrorism and it has connections since Independence. DISHONEST INDUSTRIALISTS, scandalous politicians and corrupt IAS, IRS, IPS officers have deposited in foreign banks in their illegal personal accounts a sum of about $1500 billion, which have been misappropriated by them. This amount is about 13 times larger than the country's foreign debt. With this amount 45 crore poor people can get Rs 1,00,000 each. This huge amount has been appropriated from the people of India by exploiting and betraying them. Once this huge amount of black money and property comes back to India , the entire foreign debt can be repaid in 24 hours. After paying the entire foreign debt, we will have surplus amount, almost 12 times larger than the foreign debt. If this surplus amount is invested in earning interest, the amount of interest will be more than the annual budget of the Central government. So even if all the taxes are abolished, then also the Central government will be able to maintain the country very comfortably. SO PLEASE THINK, SUPPORT AND INTERACT FOR A MILIYTARY COUP AND THERE AFTER INTERACT MORE VIGOUROUSLY FOR RESTORATION OF OUR NATIONAL VALUES WITH IN A DEFINED TIME FRAME AND THEN RESTORATION TO A WELL DEFINED AND CONSTRUCTIVE CIVILIAN DEMOCRATIC RULE. AMEN

We know that India is changing when teenagers start asking relevant questions.
Yes we can do a lot and all previous comments make sense. However, I would point out that charity begins at home, or in this case around our home. How? You need to visit my blog :-) -- just click on my name in this comment.

And a few more on terrorism can be found here -- http://churn-news.blogspot.com/search/label/Terrorism

Neither by a war we can ruin all this terrorism nor by equipping all the security forces we can win this massive battle.
In fact the ultimate solution lie within all of us,yes simply kill the devil which is hidden at some corner inside every1of us which insist us to go for money, fame via destroying the complete sense of humanity. And the terror game will get over itself.
Jai Hind!
